Holy Knight Gilbert, who was on the verge of being executed as a defeated general, was saved by Chris, a puppeteer from the enemy country. However, Chris's true intention was to use Gilbert's "soul" to create a new puppet, one more realistic and lifelike than anything he'd made before. Gilbert is reluctant to accept Chris's ideas, but finds himself faced with an impossible decision: to die as a prisoner of war, or become a puppet.
